Housed in a renovated Boston & Maine railroad station built in 1891, Pearl Street Station features a selection of barbecued entrees (steak, turkey and lamb tips, ribs and chicken) as well as the usual sirloins, hamburgers, seafood and Italian favorites. Prime rib is featured on Friday and Saturday nights. The old passenger waiting room (with its original fireplace) has been converted into a comfortable lounge, with a wide screen television for sporting events. There is a function room which can handle a group of 100 guests. Karaoke and team trivia contests are scheduled for designated evenings. Although no longer in use as a station, commuter rail and the Orange Line rapid transit trains still rumble on the adjacent tracks, stopping at Malden Center MBTA station, just a 5-minute walk from the restaurant. Donkey Kong, Pac Man, Galaga video games are here for you to play while you wait. Save the princess... But don't let your wings get cold! Salads are very good and fresh. The toppings for pizza are generous and the prices are average. Try the Hawaiian with bacon or the chicken with broccoli. The grease content is surprisingly low. [4]

One of several in the Boston area, the Dockside Restaurant in Malden is located on Route 60, but can easily be missed (it's a block or two east of Main Street at Ferry Street), and parking can be difficult to find. It's an easy 15-minute walk from the Malden Center Orange Line subway station. Lots of menu choices; steaks, burgers, pizza, sizzling fajitas, salads and grilled entrees. Very popular with families (kid's entrees at $4.95 with unlimited soda refills). Over a hundred TV screens for every sporting event. Luncheon specials (11:30a.m. - 4:p.m.) include an 8 oz. sirloin steak with a potato side for $6.95 or fresh haddock (baked or broiled) for $7.95. [5]

Opened in July 2006, John Carlino has created a brand-new bistro and martini lounge in an unexpected location: an almost abandoned section of Exchange Street, which once served as the basement service entrances to Malden's old downtown Pleasant Street stores. Finding it might be difficult in your car (it's behind the two multi-story parking garages on Route 60), but it's an easy 10-minute walk from the Malden Center Orange Line station.\n\nThis upscale bistro in a neighborhood undergoing a revitalization, with Malden's growing population of luxury apartment dwellers forming an initial clientele, might take some time to discover its niche, and its opening menu reveals quite an assortment: homemade lobster ravioli filled with lobster and spinach, grilled New York strip steak served with country mashed potatoes and green beans, crispy eggplant Napoleon layered with Portabello mushrooms, basil pesto, roasted red peppers and mozzarella and ricotta. Dinner entrees ($15-23) are likely to change so check their web-site for the full menu. Also open for lunch and Sunday brunch. lobster and spinach ravioli filet mignon Alcohol- At least its sterile Veal Oscar, Eggplant, Tapas [7]

Indian specialities served in the dining room include a variety of vegetarian entrees, as well as chicken, lamb, shrimp and swordfish dishes. Tandoor-baked kabobs served on sauteed onions and green peppers range from $10.95 - $13.95. There are over a dozen Indian breads including deep-fried pooris and stuffed baked nan (a bread basket assortment ($6.95) includes chicken nan and onion kulcha. Located on Main Street just south of Route 60 and easily accessible by public transit (10-minute walk from the Malden Center / Orange Line subway station). [8]

I love this place! the food is tasty, the portions are huge, prices are reasonable, and the staff is very pleasant. Massimo comes out from the kitchen to check on everyone and talk. He has even installed a small TV in the dinning room that shows the chefs working on the food in the back, you may find it interesting.
